Taylor met Alec at 16 years old when she applied for her first job at the Whataburger close to her house. Alec was assigned to be her trainer, and they became friends while working together. They started dating approximately a year after meeting, which was their senior year of high school. Shortly after graduation, Taylor left to attend Texas A&M while Alec stayed in Red Oak to attend a diesel technician trade school. They stayed together throughout college, often going several weeks at a time without seeing each other, but they found ways to make it work.
 
After college, Taylor returned to Red Oak to live with her family while saving to buy a house. In 2014, Taylor and Alec bought a house together in Waxahachie. It was then that they discovered their mutual love for travel and started scheduling birthday trips in and out of the country. In November of 2015, they flew to Amsterdam for Taylor’s 25th birthday. It was there that Alec proposed while they were exploring the river canals. They plan to wed in Las Vegas on October 4th of this year, which will also be their 8-year anniversary.
